About Us

Our journey into vintage books and book related curiosities began as a husband and wife hobby. As a result, many weekends are spent scouring antique stores and sales in Oregon searching for just the right treasure to add to our personal collection. For us, every book is a story within a story and a treasure with its own history and unique journey.

There is adventure in researching the life of an old book. So, what was the life of the author like? What was the story of the printers and publishers? Many times there is a fabulous story related to the owners: trinkets, letters, newspaper clippings, bookmarks, hidden in the pages, telling the story of the previous owners. To us there is romance and magic in the stories these added surprises tell. In addition, you may find that diamond in the rough with a connection to someone famous!

As our shelves overflowed we realized we had a desire to share our passion. We are excited to share our love for everything books related with you. It has been a long time dream to own our own small town local bookstore and Canby, Oregon certainly has the perfect small town feel.

The Book Nook opened just before Christmas 2017 in a tiny little nook inside the Graham Building. In June 2018 The Book Nook moved into a larger retail space inside the Graham Building expanding our book selection and adding gifts. With a third expansion in April 2019, The Book Nook now has a street facing store front in a larger space with more gifts and books.

Customers from all over visit The Book Nook, from Oregon City, Molalla, Wilsonville, Woodburn, West Linn and more! We hope our passion for sharing literature brings you as much joy as it has us.

We are passionate about supporting our local community.

Here are some of the ways we are involved:

  • Participate in book drives for local community programs
  • Member of Canby Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Member of Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association
  • Member of American Booksellers Association

Investing in and building up our local Oregon communities is vital to the health of our families. Our community is where we work, live, play, learn, share and grow. Let’s make it the best it can be for us and our children!
