The Book Nook: Sharing Our Love of Stories

From a shared passion to a community hub:

Our love story with books began as a couple, rummaging through antique stores and garage sales, seeking hidden gems for our personal collection. For us, each book held a universe within its pages, a unique journey waiting to be rediscovered.

As our shelves overflowed, a dream blossomed: to share this love with others. Owning a local bookstore in Canby, with its charming small-town atmosphere, felt like the perfect fit.

The Book Nook's journey:

  • Chapter 1 - December 2017: The Book Nook opened its doors in a cozy nook within the Graham Building.
  • Chapter 2 - June 2018: We expanded, offering a wider selection of books and introducing gifts to the mix.
  • Chapter 3 - April 2019: A third expansion allowed us to accommodate our growing collection and community.
  • Chapter 4 - February 2021: After several moves (books are heavy!), we to the Caldera Building (previously Parsons Pharmacy), restoring its historic charm and offering even more new books, games, and gifts.
  • Chapter 5 - January 2024: All stories have twist and turns. Ours is no different! Our story continues at the historic location of J.R. Vinyard General Merchandise (originally C. Wang & Co.) at 200 NW 1st Ave in Canby, Oregon. Just a few blocks away from our previous location.

Welcoming book lovers from near and far:

Customers from Oregon City, Molalla, Wilsonville, Woodburn, West Linn, and beyond have come to call The Book Nook their haven. We hope our passion for sharing the magic of literature brings you joy, just as it has brought us.
